Diatonic accordion in Italy: the gathering of two generations of musicians who, under the guide of Riccardo Tesi, track an itinerary that moves between original compositions for that instrument and traditional rearranged tunes. Besides the manifold compositions of Tesi himself, the trio proposes moments in which colours and personalities of the three musicians emerge, from jazz to northern european folk tunes, from melodies of the Italian Occitan valleys to the moresche from central Italy. Following the tracks of Trans Europe Diatonique, a diatonic accordion trio on which Riccardo Tesi played about twenty years ago, Triotonico is a picture made in Italy on three personalities constantly researching new expressive and creative pathways for the instrument.
